What is Engeye Teen Connection (ETC)?

What is Energy 4 Education?
Energy 4 Education is a fund-raising campaign organized by ETC to help bring solar power to a primary school in rural Uganda in partnership with the Engeye Scholars Program. The goal is use the sun’s energy to provide solar power and resources so teachers can extend educational support for their students into the evening. These motivated students want the opportunity to work on their studies after the sun goes down so they can pass their exams, advance to the next grade level and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to provide hope for their future. To assist in providing this hope for students, Engeye Teen Connection (ETC) has launched a fundraising effort to provide this necessary solar energy to the school.
How will the Solar Power be Installed and Delivered to the School?
ETC Board Members Greg Hickey, age 16, of Shaker High School and Sara Weinman, age 17, of Bethlehem High School, will be traveling to Uganda this July to ensure the installation of the solar power. They will also be assisting in the classroom at local schools where they will provide classroom instruction and deliver additional textbooks and school supplies purchased through other ETC initiatives.
